no it runs deeper than that, it's not that I don't use the algorithms because they're bad, I don't use them because I am fundamentally opposed to curated feeds. No algorithm would improve things because I don't want there to be an algorithm. I want to just see what people post as they post them.
Yeah no that's actually encapsulated in my point, you're not saying anything deeper than my point, you're proving it. You are a survivor in the survivorship bias context because you like/prefer the reverse chrono feed. The point is that there are people who either don't join tumblr or join but don't stay because there is no decent algorithm option for them.
There should be options for people. People should have access to a good reverse chrono feed and a good algorithmic feed if they want them. People who already use tumblr are saying "noooo no one here wants algorithmic feed more than reverse chrono" and it's just like well yeah, because everyone who WOULD prefer algorithmic isn't here to say so because we currently don't have a good algorithmic feed so they don't currently use tumblr. And if we would like them to, we need to give them the option.
Tumblr isn't planning to get rid of reverse chrono. They just want to improve the algorithmic feed so that people who prefer it (They're out there! You just don't see them because they aren't on Tumblr right now because why would they be?) have the option to use it.
